Today we headed down to Walt Disney World for Lisa's 40th birthday. We had an early flight from KCI so we were in our hotel by 1:30pm. We stayed at the Grand Floridian this time. A beautiful, Victorian style resort right on the monorail line. So we didn't even need to rent a van. Our room (8417) was located in the Boca Chica building and it had a Magic Kingdom view. It was great. We were pretty early and our room wasn't ready so we had a late lunch at the Grand Floridian Cafe.
Our room was finally ready about 4pm so we unpacked and got ready for dinner. We ate at Narcoose's, a nice seafood restaurant right there at the Grand Floridian. After dinner we headed back to the room to change for Mickey's No So Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom.
Jantzen and Marina were Jasmine and Aladdin again this year and Lisa came as the flying carpet. It was really neat. I was supposed to come as the Genie but my costume wasn't done in time. That is another story. Anyway, they looked great. Lisa did a good job and everybody commented on her carpet costume.
The party was awesome as usual. This was our 3rd time at MNSSHP. They decorate the whole park up in scary and creepy decorations. We rode Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, The Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Pirates of the Caribbean, Astro Orbiter, Space Mountain and Haunted Mansion. And yes, Marina rode Haunted Mansion. We have been trying to get her on it for year's. Well this year she finally went. She had a "mission" this year. She was going to ride Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean and Test Track. And she did them all. She was so proud of herself.
On our way to Haunted Mansion we saw Quasimodo but weren't able to stick around to get his autograph or picture. We thought we would do it later but weren't able to. We caught the 10pm Parade at which point I found out my new camera was broken. Somehow the lens broke off. I managed to get the lens back on but it start taking bad pictures. Great.
