Lisa talked us all into waking up at 5am to see the sunrise over the Grand Canyon. It was tough getting up that early but it was neat to see. There were alot of people there who had the same idea.
We had some breakfast at the Lodge, did some souvenir shopping and we were off again. This time to Durango, Colorado. On our way to Durango we stopped at the 4 Corners Monument and took a break. It was a neat place. Both Lisa and I had been there as kids so it was fun to bring our kids there. We did some more souvenir shopping and then had some fried bread before heading out again.
We arrived in Durango about 3:30. We stayed at a Double Tree hotel right on the river Animas. It was awesome to leave the sliding door open and hear the river rushing less than 50' away. We had eaten in a while so as soon as we checked into the hotel we were in search of some food. We walked around downtown Durango. It is nice town. A lot of nice shops and places to eat. We had dinner at a Mexican place called Francisco's. After that we walked down the street to the Cold Stone Creamery for some ice cream.
We had a long day of driving and tomorrow was gonna be another big day so we headed back to the hotel where the kids swam for a couople hours. I think they are part fish.
